Overview
Smart Load steamlines truck loading for sound and lighting companies with smart tools like Truck View, item input, and load history tracking. It saves time, cuts costs, and protects equipment through efficient, optimized planning.
Problem
Problem – Loading a truck is a complex process with many variables. It’s often done through trial and error, leading to longer work times, inefficiency, higher costs, and sometimes even damage to equipment.

Decision-Making
Truck loading relies on experience and seniority, not structured tools or data.
Survey Findings
Smart Load – User Research Overview to optimize truck loading for sound and lighting professionals, I conducted focused user research to understand workflows and decision-making.
Roles & Workflow
Decision-makers are Team Leaders and Experienced Technicians.
Freelancers manage 10–20 events monthly, often for multiple companies.

Existing Tools
Some use manual graphic tools like SEARATES, which don’t fully solve the problem.
Inefficiencies
Mismanaged loads lead to wasted resources, like sending two trucks instead of one.
Benchmark
As part of the research, a benchmark analysis compared existing solutions to gather insights into technologies, interface design, and visual language for the app's development. Searates was the primary reference for its professional quality and relevance, while Yad2, Subway, and iPhone Calendar offered additional
inspiration for user experience and visual design.
